It
is few years since this country lost true statesmen who were committed to
values and ideals of security and national development. Months earlier
preceding their demise the country had just lost another gallant soldier whose
values are still deeply entrenched in the chronicles of security to date. The
ability, zeal and dedication that the duo of the Ngong copter crush claimed the
lives were admirable and desirable for this country.
Their
dedication could only be compared to the efforts that were demonstrated by the
forefathers in the wars they fought in forests and mountains to give us
independence we celebrate today. George Saitoti and Orwa Ojode were able Duos
whom in my chronicles of the third liberation I will term them as the “The Duo of 2012” It inarguable truths
that these two worked with commitment that should be emulated by all who desire
success.
Two
years ago, this country lost another tough committed gallant soldier whom to
date as his death is remembered no one has been able to unravel the true course
of his death. The demise of Mutula Kilonzo saw an engulfed nation in grief
whose consolation could not be easily jotted in words. Sad enough is that to
date we still mumble over “What killed Kilonzo?”
These
events continue to bite us back like a deep frost dropped on our skin us the
soldiers, generals, commands and cornels of tomorrow of Kenya. One
investigation after the other, sabotage comes from inside and outside all to
botch the success made. Few people wake up to gain from the occasion while orchestrating
a vice that let down the whole nation. The vice of corruption continue to cut
us into pieces while leaving us with no chance to excuse our future.
However,
as all this occurs, the affected generations mature, embrace the regime and the
ball continues rolling. All over worldwide, it has cost the efforts of the
people to have their fate established and corrected for the good of a nation. Starts
from Rwanda, Egypt, to Philippines, Seychelles e.t.c. were all liberated not by
the aggressive foreign forces but by their unity and identification of a common
problem.
Kenya
shall not be saved by Religion, neither by a culture nor shall a government,
Kenya be saved by her people. People who will forge a common destiny, common
need for prosperity and need for a united front. Kenya needs more than a
political, religious or a local leader or even leaders. Kenya needs unity of
her citizen and Identification of a common enemy. Let us all wake up Kenyan
citizens.
Let
us embrace values of unity, loyalty and patriotism, let us embrace brotherhood
and oneness, and let us forge a common destiny. We shall liberate Kenya. Kenya
is Oppressed, Kenya is bleeding; Kenya is in the hands of cartels. And it is
rivalry of these cartels that will sabotage the efforts of the poor. Kenyans we
are able, we have the ability, and we can.
